Education and Approaches

My name is Yosan Sahlu, and I am a Registered Social Worker at BLCC. I hold a Master’s degree in Social Work with a specialization in Children, Youth, and Family Services. I am an internationally trained professional with extensive experience in case management, crisis counseling, advocacy and referral. With a strong foundation in providing compassionate and effective care, I utilize Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) as a primary therapeutic approach to support individuals in overcoming challenges and achieving positive mental health outcomes.

My approach is centered on understanding the unique needs of each client, while fostering resilience and empowering individuals to navigate their personal journeys towards growth and well-being. In addition to my expertise in Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), I am also trained in a diverse range of therapeutic approaches, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Narrative Therapy, Solution-Focused Therapy, and Trauma-Informed Care, allowing me to tailor my practice to meet the unique needs of each individual I work with.
