Our Programs
BLCC seeks to enhance accessibility to multilingual and culturally sensitive mental health services. We work with a range of organizations to help remove the financial barriers associated with accessing mental health care. The following services are provided based on eligibility at no cost to the client.

Counselling Services for Eligible Refugee Claimants in Ontario
If you are a refugee claimant in Ontario you may be eligible to receive psychotherapy services at no cost through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP).

Counselling Service for Eligible Individuals Seeking Employment
If you are a new graduate, entering a new career, transitioning into a new career, or an OW/ODSP recipient, you may be eligible to receive 10 counselling sessions at no cost through the LD Empowerment Employment Project (LDEEP) funded by the Government of Canada.
Better Life Counselling Center is working in partnership with the LD Empowered Employment Project (LDEEP) to offer 10 counselling sessions to eligible clients. This project serves to support individuals who are facing challenges obtaining and maintaining employment and are seeking to prepare to enter the workforce.
In this project, clients will learn techniques and build on areas such as self-confidence, communication skills, empowerment, and stress management.
This program is also offered in the following languages:
English, Hindi, Urdu, Farsi, French, Portuguese, and Ukrainian

Newcomer Mental Wellness Program for Ukrainian children, youth and adults
Better Life Counselling Center (BLCC), in collaboration with Culture Link, is offering a “Newcomer Mental Wellness Program” for Ukrainian children, youth and adults who have immigrated to Canada in recent years.
This is a short-term counselling program which includes 3-4 sessions free of charge. Services are provided by Ukrainian speaking Mental Health Professionals.
Counselling Services for EAP Clients
Employee Assistance Programs (EAPs) allow employees to access confidential, short-term counselling services at no cost to the client.
BLCC currently works with a range of EAPs including Compsych, Workplace Options (WPO), and Workplace Alliance

Counselling Services for WSIB Clients
If you have a work-related injury or illness, you may be eligible to receive psychotherapy services at no cost by filing a claim with the Workplace Safety Insurance Board (WSIB).
Affordable Counselling
BLCC offers an affordable counselling program provided by multilingual and experienced registered psychotherapists, registered social workers, and graduate-level counselling psychology students.
Who is eligible?
- Students and newcomers to Canada (5 years or less)
- Those who do not have private insurance coverage
- Seniors 65 or older
What is the cost and duration of the program?
6 sessions (per year), $60 per session
Services within this program are provided from a client-centred approach using a short-term counselling model of 6 weeks.
Our experienced therapists use a range of techniques including:
- Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT)
- Brief-Narrative Therapy
- Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT)
- Solution-Focused Brief Therapy (SFBT)
Concerns addressed in the session include but are not limited to:
- Anxiety
- Depression
- Grief
- Family Dynamics
- Relational Issues
