Group Counselling

At Better Life Counselling Center, our group counselling services offer a safe, therapist-guided space where individuals can connect, learn, and grow together. Groups provide structured support for those facing similar challenges, helping participants build skills, gain insight, and feel less alone. We serve clients across Toronto, North York, Richmond Hill, and the Greater Toronto Area through both in-person and online group sessions.

What Is Group Counselling?

Group counselling brings together a small number of individuals who meet regularly with trained clinicians to explore emotions, build coping strategies, and support one another. Through conversation, shared experiences, and guided activities, group members learn, grow, and feel less alone in their struggles.

These sessions help participants develop socialization skills, increase confidence, experience belonging and acceptance, and practice healthier ways of communicating. Group therapy can be used on its own or alongside individual counselling.

How Group Counselling Works

Our group counselling programs are structured, supportive, and designed to fit the needs of diverse clients.

What to expect:

  • Groups typically include 6–12 participants and meet weekly for 60–90 minutes

  • Sessions are available in-person

  • Each meeting begins with a gentle check-in and moves into guided discussions, skills-building, and shared reflection

  • Clinicians use evidence-based methods such as CBT, DBT, mindfulness, and interpersonal skills training

  • Members support one another by sharing experiences and offering encouragement

  • Groups create a safe space for practicing communication skills, building coping strategies, and improving emotional regulation

  • Participants gain social connection, acceptance, a sense of belonging, and tools they can apply in daily life

Many clients find that combining group counselling with individual therapy leads to deeper and longer-lasting change.
