Better Life Counselling Center provides no-cost counselling and psychotherapy for eligible refugee in Ontario through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP). Our multilingual team offers culturally sensitive mental-health support to help newcomers navigate trauma, stress, and adjustment during the resettlement process.

IFHP-Covered Counselling for Refugees

Refugee claimants in Ontario may qualify for fully funded mental-health services through the Interim Federal Health Program (IFHP), which covers psychotherapy and counselling for individuals awaiting or pursuing refugee status. At Better Life Counselling Center, we offer trauma-informed, compassionate, and accessible care designed to support emotional wellbeing during one of life’s most challenging transitions.

Our diverse, multilingual team ensures that refugees can receive counselling in the language they feel most comfortable with—making mental-health support more accessible, culturally appropriate, and meaningful. Whether clients are coping with trauma, displacement, stress, anxiety, depression, or challenges related to the immigration process, BLCC provides a safe, welcoming environment where they can begin to heal and rebuild.

Eligibility

  • Individuals who are refugee claimants in Ontario.

  • Clients who are eligible for IFHP coverage.

  • Persons currently awaiting, pursuing, or appealing refugee status.
