Celeste Bilbao

Mental Health Counsellor

Education and Approaches

Celeste is a Mental Health Clinician with a background in Adult Clinical Psychology. She has over 20 years of experience working with clients from diverse cultural, social, and ethnic backgrounds, providing high quality short and mid-term treatments, using different types of structured evidence-based therapies. She has worked in diverse settings such as hospitals, mental health agencies, non-profit organizations, and agencies at the local and national level. In her work, Celeste enjoys working with newcomers to Canada, conducting assessments, and implementing treatment plans, helping them apply new coping strategies to help reduce the stress and anxiety of their settlement journey. She also works closely with members of the LGBTQ2S+ community as well as those living with HIV+. Celeste is able to provide direct access to psychiatrists and family health teams of several main hospital networks in the GTA and surrounding areas, as well as community resources in housing, food security, education and employment. She strongly believes in a client-centred approach and focuses on anti-oppressive and anti-racist frameworks. She believes in mental health access for all, regardless of birthplace.
